GED & HiSET

East Side Adult Education Is a GED and HiSet Testing Site!

The GED and HiSET is offered at the Independence Adult Center (IAC). Testing will be on  the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Fridays of each month, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. and then from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
 
To register for the HiSet test follow these instructions:

3. Then click on new registration on the right hand side of the web page. This is where you will register and pay for the test(s). 
 
 
 

HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY PREPARATION

The State Board of Education has approved options for those seeking to earn high school equivalency certicates.  Many employers, vocational schools, colleges and the military recognize the following tests as the equivalent of a high school diploma. This Adult Education class is designed to help students 18 years of age and over to pass one of the following state approved tests:

  • The GED – General Educational Development
  • The HiSET – High School Equivalency Test

Remote Learning GED Test Preparation

This class is designed for those students who do not have the ability to attend a physical class environment, on a regular basis, due to work schedule, family obligations, or health issues. The student works at his/her own pace with the guidance of an online Instructor.

To get your GED certification, you will need to pass four tests with a score no lower than 145 points for each subject.
 
Getting Started:
 Students will be required to take a Placement Test. Once accepted into the GED Distance Learning Program, students will complete all registration forms. 
 
Once registered in class, instructor will set up an account for you on the AZTEC Software Application.This is an online study tool which will guide and provide you with Pretests and Practice tests, drills, learning objectives and Post tests. Your instructor will oversee your lessons and contribute to the enhancement of those areas that require more practice. Once you have completed your official testing, you will no longer have access to the AZTEC program.
